What do the juniors themselves think of the decision to have two seperate championships? I was disappointed, I don't think winning a junior pot will be the same anymore; the atmosphere won't be a patch on the old champs.

i agree, there will be no crowd there at all in comparison to the usual champs. The only spectators will be family of the oarsmen and women, presuming that none of the novice, inters or seniors will be travelling to cork to watch the junior champs a week before their own. Also the usual ex-rower crowd that would usually be in attendance arent going to travel to cork two weekends in a row and i presume the vast majority will choose snr champs over junior.
The big question in my mind is, seeing as they are now two seperate regattas, will juniors be able to race for another club at inter level at the senior champs?

Yeah think it will be a bit of a damp squib. The mens Junior Convenor insisted that it be that weekend to facilitate the Coupe team.
Dont see why juniors cant row inter for another club the following weekend as long as they are members of that club

Remember that this is only for this year, due to the Coupe being held in Ireland on the week after the Senior Champs. The Junior and Senior Champs will be together again in 2009. Why was this done? To allow the athletes selected to represent their country in the Coupe to race for their clubs in the National Championships. Any athletes not in squad boats can race in the Senior(over 18) Champs the following week so long as they are eligible.

What will happen to juniors racing senior or inter events that want to go for selection? will they be allowed out of camp for the senior champs weekend?

I'm not involved but the short answer in my opinion would be no.

If they do have a disco on junior champs night it'll probably be all ages, which'd be pretty shit too cause all the little 'uns would go.
