Looks like a good strong team! The pres/lee 4+ might still be going though, they beat most of the inters and seniors at cork last weekend!

the pres/lee 4 got their target. But because bish beat them in the final they wernt allowed go. Funny seeing the methody pair going even though the pres pair beat them by a big margin in trials!

they did not get their target. the fact that they got beaten by bish was irrelevant as they were not trialists. the pres/lee fours time and percentage were compared to the mcb pair (who to be fair did do quite well) and other boats. I agree that pres should maybe have just been considered as a pair but they wernt. Adrian cassidy had the final say and his decision should be trusted.

granted about complaints but the pres/lee 4 had only a few weeks training together and made the target given to go to coupe..ok they were beaten by bish so going to homes instead is fair but the fact that that 4 has been split into the 8 and two homes fours is stupid as together they have a genuine chance of winning at homes but now a very fast boat has been split for no justifiable reason.

ah there 2 stong looking 4s anyways not the worst combinations in fairness, the 2 pres lads who are the homes pair probably got trown into the 8 so they could use that sweet ass black stampfli 8 at the homes and probably the same reason for putting the pres cox in the 4 so they can use the stampfli 4+ they have aswell...i think usually clubs havta provide their own boats for the homes so thats my logic behind it??

last year the pres 4+ was used in homes but not their sweet ass black stampfli 8. They used uccs filipi on the rack next door.

I doubt they'll even go. September Champs is ridiculous, 12 months of rowing.
There is a lot of moaning on this board. So many people seem to think they have a right to row for Ireland yet dont bother turning up at Trials. Everyone who has been selected has had the balls to stand up at trials from December onwards, put themselves through public erg tests and racing in singles where there is no place to hide (unlike the middle of some reasonably quick eight where your getting pulled along by your mates).
Yes, there may be quicker athletes out there, but they dont deserve to row for Ireland because they did not think it was an important enough honour to bother putting themselves through the nescessary tests. The selction document states where you must perform, when you must perform, and how fast. These guys have done that, most of you haven't
Next year, go to Newry and show everyone how good you are. Only that way will Ireland have a decent junior team rather than a collection of club crews who think they are quick but if they went to race on the international scene would get destroyed.

The reason the lee/pres lads were in the 4 was because Ireland wanted to put one forward for coupe. They were chosen because they were in close proximity. An agreement was made then that if the methody lads reached their target, they would get coupe, and the same went for the 4. If the 4 didn't make it, the pres pair wasn't going to coupe anyway. They had one chance, but didn't get it. They could not go back on the agreement... Now, we should go lynch the bish 8
