Not the type of message they were looking for dirtydouble! But he's quite right. Apparently the members of Irish Junior Rowing have little to say for once.

Maybe they have nothing to say because unlike some sad senior members of the board they dont have the free time or inclination to log in every day and make bullshit comments about everything

Seriously..Fighting over capital letters, punctuation marks and sentence orders..a bit pathetic for a rowing discussion board?

meh i agree thats why i said a propper league every club is not going too go too small reggatas have it at the full status ones regarding the prise money i'd say maybe its not about the money really(hahaha) what we need is a really competitive title like the anderson trophy in galway that would create more of an atmosphere
the heads should stay i think they are important as the make sure you have an endurance base

i think we are missing out entirely on the point here, besides the stupid comments about punctuation,
irish junior rowing is a joke when it comes to international standard (yes i havent made a squad) but i believe that this year there is an enormous amount of potential in the junior mens sculling, there is probably one of the colsest groups we have ever seen at the top of junior sculling, micks, waterford, pres, offaly, skbb etc. would it not be a good year to single out the top 8 or 12 (2 or 3 raceable quads to train against each other) and go all out to send a quad to the worlds? this would mean higher standard of irish junior rowing as there are alot of people with the abilty to make these boats, the corresponding athletes then race coupe or homes if they dont make the final boat, this would also mean a huge hall of irish international medals if you have prospective world crews racing at the coupe
in relation to prises for winners, this isnt really that possible and at least in rowing medals arent as tacky as in other sports, maybe best club at a regatta could win a monetary investment?
a league for quads fours, doubles, sculls and eights would be a huge incentive. like gaa "league" would be a secondary nat champ, and the champs would be the "all ireland" so to speak

i think the idea of a league for the big regattas would be a sucess...it would start making regattas more competitve and you would get better turn outs for them...
