Oh so jnr 16 are gone up to 2k? Ha class, we'll actually be able to see the races this year so.. Jnr 16 8s should be a close one beween Portora and St. Josephs.. Anyone know why Bann didn't enter? I thought they were supposed to be one of the favourites to win it this year..

almost certain they are, well at skibereen regatta i only rowed junior 8s but another member of our crew, 2 in fact raced jun 16 1x nd it was 2k so i would assume itll be the same at the champs! yeah, should be good athlone was too close to make any decisions on who'll be favourite there! not sure really as far as i know their junior 18 8 has a good number of 16s in it and looking at entries they entred 2 junior 4+'s nd a junior 4x-, perhaps just sticking to junior 18 all together by the looks of it, their crews will certrainly be ones to look out for next year

Yea but I think that the St. Josephs lads were missing a couple of lads from their 16 8 coz they needed them for the 18 8 in athlone..that could make a difference in champs..?? Yea the Bann crews are looking young this year but as far as i know, so are bothe the bish 8 and the portora 8...8s should be a good race again next year..

Oh so jnr 16 are gone up to 2k? Ha class, we'll actually be able to see the races this year so.. I think the idea this year is that you'll get to see all the races. Races that are less than the 2k, eg j14, will be started from further down the course, so that they will finish at the finish, or so it seems...

yeh thats what i thought, surely that cant be right its not remotely fair people wont be level starting if they are gonna start at the 500m or 1k mark, sure its makes for more excitement at the finish but is it worth affecting the fairness of a race??
