scullingthenation you said
"It's just called Carlow now. There were ex-Commercial boys in it but they were entered as Carlow and raced in Carlow colours. Same with the JM8+"
does that make you from carlow?!

Can I please remind those of us who seem to have forgotten that the purpose of this thread is not to find out what clubs people have their affiliation to but rather who you think will win the champs! St. Michaels are very strong this year and I think that they could pose a serious threat to the other clubs for most of the junior mens boats. Saying that, Bish have yet to race this year and Commercial/Carlow haven't raced many domestic events either. So by the looks of things it will be quite interesting. There are very few races left and from what I hear Bish and Carlow are to meet at the "700m" Galway Regatta!!! It looks like a great showdown.

No it doesn't make me from Carlow, but you should know that rowrowrowurboat!
Look at the pics from the watersedge, shows the 8 and other Carlow boats with Commercial lads rowing in Carlow one-pieces. The entry is also Carlow not Carlow/Commercial.
Obvious theory would now be that the Dublin boys have made the final jump.

Although i do sometimes wish i did row for carlow because they beat us everytime, no no im not, i just know that they are all members of carlow because thats wat they raced at gent. just as carlow. not carlow/commercial and i highly doubt they would do something against the rules therefor they must all be members of carlow. I think its clever wat they done and im raged that our club didnt think of it first, but wat do u expect when mick desmond and tony dooley become one force? Hell will break loose!

'scull me' why would you assume the7man was from st micks just because he was asking about a st micks/bish composite? i think people are actually being stupid i this thing on purpose or sumthing. just to make the carlow/commercial thing easy for those who still havent been able to understand it. what ive heard is that under iaru rules you can be a member of two clubs at the same time but you can only for one club at a given regatta so carlow/commercial decided that they were going to race champs as carlow and the irish schools champsand something else as commercial. and if you cant understand that - basically carlow now have four new members that row in their eight and used to be members of commercial. now everyboady stop talking about it and everybody just make some predictions for the laugh............
