Just to set the record, it is not actually a new idea. It has been debated at AGM's and EGM's for years, getting narrowly defeated; getting passed and subsequently defeated, etc.
When discussing it, consider it in the context of the recently public framework discussion document.

is this whole new season thing going ahead? id be in favour of it regarding the heads and the champs in december means we'll get to row in whats mkent to be the best weather all though knowing ireland twill rain but people rowing the coupe will have to focus on coupe boats seeing as thats held in early augest so that could throw there chances same too with homes. if it was to go ahead it dosent mena juniors have a year round training schedule just take the usual 2 month break after it. its like everything theres pros and cons but the calander does need a bit of rethinking alright

I'm all for the idea. It'll spice up the calender and make the entire season more interesting, and indeed much easier to follow and stick with. We all go through rough patches during the winter and some don't make it out the other side. This will hopefully give those people a more meaningful winter season with something to look forward to in the short-term rather than waiting months on end with no racing.
