Hi All
I hope you all had a good break and are all keen to get stuck into some light training in September before we move on.
The aim of this month's program is to help your athletes to prepare to train correctly and to get their general fitness back up after there break.
You will notice in week one, the first Saturday back that there are two 1500m pieces at rate 24. This is basically to get a measure of your speed now at this early stage so that you can gauge any improvements over the next couple of months.
All athletes are to be encouarged to keep a training diary and to record all weights lifted ,ergs etc. during the year. In the October program I will give you a record sheet that each athlete should fill in during each weights session and during any camps this record sheet is to be brought along with them.
I will issue a Provisional Junior Calendar for the year once the AGM has passed.I am proposing a training camp over the first school mid term in October to co-inside with the development camp on the 24th-26th October. Juniors invited will be encouraged to stay on until Thursday 29th October. This development camp is due to take place in Blessington. More information to follow on the development camps shortly and who is eligible to rock up to these camps.
