If the weather is anything to go by its an absolute scorcher in iniscara today and should make for good times. If anyone hears any results would be much appreciated to post em up here. Be interesting to see who wins the leander with nuig and uni london competing along with the muckross snr 8 from wallingford who did well for themselves there..

results were on the iaru for a bit but were taken down as to why i dunno, times were slowish i assume nuig are better than 6:13, st.micks were in 2nd so they stepped up their performance on queens$ regatta. Bish were second last ahead of pres in last.

Fair play to NUIG in Senior Mens but credit where credit is due to their Senior ladies. Seems like the Galway girls have really stepped it up this year filling the void left by Muckross women? T'would be interesting to see if the muckross crew re-emerged could they take down NUIG?
UCD are becoming the also rans which is a shame for a club so typically dominant but as they say out with the old, in with the new. Fastest womens crews at the moment seem to be trinity, portora and nuig...hopefully they'll all be at metro!!

Trinity, UCD and Portora women will all be at Trinity regatta this weekend from the looks of it. All 3 of them have entered inter and senior 8's and 4's draw is a link on page below www.boat.tcdlife.ie/regatta.php

Would hardly say that UCD women are becoming the 'also rans', they won Uni champs earlier this year beating both NUIG and Trinity at inter and senior grades. If you think about it, the university has just finished up with exams so perhaps they didn't have a full, fit crew in Cork or Queens. Trinity didn't even travel to these events. Metro should be good if NUIG travel.

I seriously doubt the nuig boat is the same boat that rowed unis and that ucd beat, it's obviously got some non students in it but that's fair enough given ucd's history. you might remember aswell pixy pop that Queens was before exams in ucd and they got hopped by portora and finally, trinity beat ucd fair and square in skiberreen.
so i think the statement "becoming the also rans" applies.

Yeh fare play to nuig looking strong again still waiting for the race with queens should a good one, muckross s4- impressive too maybe nuig will get challenged even more come champs for that title.
Interesting draw that for trinity portora women could do well, i wouldnt put it past em racing inter 8s at champs??
No ucd senior men at trinity?? whats going on there?
UCD women i assume wont have that lambe one in their squad seeing that shes on the squad so thats a lost asset but trinity are missing that dolan one aswell though..

Portora look as though they are racing inter/senior in the womens and mens events at Trinity. Could be interesting.
There was a serious lack of intermediate and junior 8's at Cork regatta. Seems like a trend thats becoming common. Could there be a likelihood that the Senior/Inter/Junior 8's could all be straight finals at the champs given the courses ability to host a 7/8 lane race?
Trinity vs Portora in the final of the senior 8's looks like a bit of a non event. Bit dissapointing that Commercial, UCD or Neptune didn't enter any senior 8's. Good to see Galway making the journey down though.
