There is a massive difference between being competative at Duisburg and the world cups, the 2x's are going to find the going very tough at the world cups, Bled has a smallish entry so they hopefully will do well, but the 2nd and 3rd world cups could be a big ask. That said they are looking towards U23 worlds I presume so any experience at the top level is invaluable!

Couple of interesting entries. Greg Searle back in the GB VIII. Iztok Cop has switched nationality to Norwegian and teams up with Tufte in the double. If he medals at the World Champs he wil have won for three different countries over his career

This race is Cop's swansong, he is only eligible for the World Cup's to do this - he's doing it to promote a cause he's involved in about promoting rowing as an exercise and not necessarily about competition (irony in competing in a World Cup then I know) and how it crosses borders hence the link up - think this is as far as they will be taking this combination
Best of luck to the Irish crews anyways, some very tough competition in the boats the Irish are involved in despite what Billy says above, its not about the size, its about the quality....give it socks anyways

Well done Cathal - lying third at the first 500, at 1000 and at 1500, pulled through to second by the finish to grab a semi-final spot
