Well done Carlow, whilst other regattas struggle for support and entries Carlow sets the benchmark for how a regatta should be run; with ample pleasant stewards, umpires and a strong community interest. It was all about the rowing and it is little wonder the event was vastly over subscribed. For those fortunate enough to win, a glass tankard prize surpasses any trophy offered elsewhere. I would encourage all those clubs who were unable to attend to make this one of your priority regattas for next season. Well done and thank you Carlow!

Is this one of the Grand League events?

Well done committee, organisers and volunteers-on-the-day for what sounds like an excellent river venue event.

No it is not a grand league regatta.
Yes it is a well organised local regatta which caters for the Junior 13-17 rowers, and does it well. The course is a bendy 2-lane river with reeds strategically located to snare J15 scullers.

Thanks for the overly presumptuous response to a simple question. The regatta is simply not one I have ever attended or am familiar with, and therefore was not sure whether it was being run using the GL format.
But anyways, thanks again.
