Good entry, hope they have a good regatta, would prob have swapped maher and hanily, but hopefully it'll go well. Great to see LW2x going out. A-Final might be a big ask in Lucerne, but after their performance in Bled, they'll have a taste for it. Best of luck to all. Swapping Maher and Hanily on what basis? Don't get me wrong Hanily is a top lad and a talent for the future and I say all the best to him but Maher is the 1st in that boat on ergos and 2nd in the sigle to Niall.

Ah I wasn't making any assumptions about ranking. As far as I'm concerned they're all on equal footing. Just thought hanily would have fit well into the quad an maher in the pair with English.
I assume there have been combinations run etc. Just an opinion.
Again, best of luck to all and I hope their performances lead to an u23 spot and further success.

the LW2x for Lucerne is different from Bled, in that it is made up of Dolan/Lambe, whereas Bled was Lambe/McCrohan

Id say it depends on how they perform compared to other u23 crews in Lucerne

He kinda has a point when ya think of it hanily has won 4 pots all in sculling boats and maher won his all his pots in sweep boats so if you were to go on that basis then ya maybe they should have been swapped but they seem to be doing quite well in those combinations so best of luck to em' Best result i think will probably be the lw 4x

Well waughboy I can tell you for a fact they wouldn't go on that basis, pots have no relevance to selectors for international boats. The basis they do go on is sculling and erg results from Newry and final trial results at NRC. Fairly thorough and conclusive testing it must be agreed. Also Maher has been to an U23 Worlds in lwt scull so its not like he's lacking in sculling experience. They should both do well anyway...
