All,
What do people think of the changes made to setup at the NRC and beach area for the Champs? Being one of the many people I'm sure criticising the Union after last years Pot, it was great to see efforts being made to make things easier fro clubs and rowers.
1) The online declarations made Captains meetings shorter
2) Decent meals at NRC at a decent price (didnt have it but heard chicken n ham dinner was spot on)
3)Slipping facilities at beach. Unfortunately ESB opened dam Thursday evening and water levels dropped. But the attempt to have slips was there, with the HPD overseeing the JCB deepening cleaning the gravel/rocks Fri morning.
4)Toilet facilities at beach - great to see. Especially good for parents of J16's-not having there kids running into the woods
5)Racking - maybe not enough racks were available to everyone but fair dues, it was a great addition to the new Champs
6)Car passes-our club got 10-presume this was the norm.Small thing but very welcome.Plus 2 days parking for €7.50 if one had to pay-everything helps
7)Bin bags being distributed and collected to try keep place clean.
8)Viewing stand-great idea
9)Presentation stand with Rowing Ireland flags etc..another plus..even flag poles with Tricolour and Rowing Ireland flag
10)Signs from N22 directing drivers to NRC
I'm sure theres more but on the whole, all good..
Overall, very well done to Chairman and all the organising committee. I'm sure it was a headache organising everything but was well worth it. I was first to write to you and criticise last year but, on behalf of my own club, well done and congrats on a job well done.
