Wow he sounds like a bit of an arrogant [profanity deleted - admin] to me... But I was texting him there the last week and he said that he probably wouldn't be able to break 7:00, he just said that because he's a conceited [ditto].

Yeah I agree thisistheanderson, I was texting you there about a week ago and he sounds like the kind of guy who would pretend to be somebody else, just so he could compliment himself on a message board. I wish he could teach me a few lessons on making friends too, he really seems to have the knack for it.

Really? So when he said "fair play to him" he was actually talking about himself?? Wow, I thought I knew some arrogant people but this just brings it to a whole new level.

In fairness, i doubt anyone would be so stupid as to make a post exalting themselves on this message board if they are known by other people on the board.....would they? But it does sound like you know him "thisistheanderson"

I didn't think that anybody would be that stupid either, sixtynine, but I was texting him there about a week ago and he said that nothing is more important than talking himself up and recounting his entire 2k history on a junior rowing message board, so the stupidity of the situation probably slipped through his extremely large head.

Yeah, I do know him sixtynine... Fair play to him, I thought his rowing career was screwed, but then he trained hard and now he's pulling savage 2ks left, right and centre. Yea fair play to him..

I'm not sure hal900 being extremely sarcastic or not, but either way 7.27 is still extremely low, no matter how long you're out. Surely if you pull that kind of an erg score, certainly at junior18 level, you'd re-do it just so you wouldn't have to submit it, if nothing else.
As regards anderson's last comment I'm not so sure that you're right. The guy is just after saying that he hasn't done a 2k since. I'd have to agree with cheesestring on this matter though, as it's quite obvious that he is indeed talking himself up. No-one else could possibly know the information supreme knows unless either they were extremely sad individuals with nothing better to be doing (correcting .4 of a second to .3 of a second) or that it is himself, as hal900 has rightly noticed.
The guy is either clearly misled into thinking that his comments exalting himself have gone unnoticed or else he is doing it purposely. Either way it's a bit of a disgrace that he is doing it for himself. If it were someone else then spot on for having a friend's back!
As regards hal900 last's comments, I believe that eggs, as a structural object can be quite deceiving. They seem to be hard and stable on the outside but really everyone knows that if you want to break it all you have to do is simply drop it from it's high perch and watch it smash at your feet. When put in water they tend to bob up and down annoyingly on the surface, in a way nearly laughing at you, before either they sink of their own natural accord (usually head first as it tends to be the heaviest part), or you get so annoyed by it that you smash it to pieces so there's nothing left to annoy you...

www.ara-rowing.org/upload/files/Competition/HIR2009-results.pdfthe times are on this link, but wen i was looking for it, i found a site which says that to be junior for the homes "‘A Junior oarsman/oarswoman is one who has not attained the age of 18 years before the 1st September of the calendar year preceding the year of competition. Clubs may combine to form composite crews.’ " does that mean that people who don't get to row junior in ireland but who still qualify for junior in the homes should be allowed to trial for it??
