Grogan capsized in the semi. Have to really feel sorry for him as he's such a good athlete and works so hard. Fair play to Paul O'Donovan at winning junior sculls as a J15. Well done.

Ya fair play to Paul, He won all three Junior sculling pots, and is in the Coupe Quad, all at junior15, What a legend!!! He will pass out Dillens record easily if he keeps this up!! Shane O Driscoll will always be the "TANK" though

4seat theres a thread about that on the other message board.
WEll the Junior quads were interesting, we new who was going to win however the heats were amazing, neptune getting taken by bann, (tunnel vision is baddddd) and portadown B beating clonmel by .03 of a second. Very interesting.
Final results Skibb, Portadown A, Bann.

Portora I think biggest shock of the lot, 3rd in the 8s 4th in the 4s didnt make the final of quads and 5th in 2x, not too good for them at this moment of time especially as so many of them are representing this year.

this is not related to the topic but does any one know anything about an inter provincial competition for J16's.There was some talk of it when MMcE was appointed.

There certainly were quite a few surprises in some of the results. As vortex rightly pointed out Portora didn't have a great weekend. Doesn't reflect very well on Derek Holland or indeed their internationals. Very good showings from Skibbereen on the sculling side, Colaiste Iognaid nearly beating our "top" coupe pair, and St Josephs really storming the field in both the fours and the eights.

it would seem portora peeked erlier in the season.....possibly around queens regatta? yes, dosent reflect very well atall with all their international oarsmen. the homes and coupe shud be interesting on the sweep side of things

Peaking early in a season is always a danger, but Queen's is an extreme! Portora also changed their crew the evening before Junior 8s...
