they were in the lady elizabeth boat in the final of the thames a few years back. before enyone starts slagging them, im not sure they are expecting anything other than having a bit of fun, and an excuse to go to henley and have a few beers. they'd be doing very well to qualify

Sure isnt it an achievement in its self to qualify for Henley. Lets see how many of you slagging them would qualify.

Peter Chambers is racing diamond scull. Peter Chambers should be made to walk the plank.

I don't think Cathal would touch him in the single, interesting to see if they are both in for next world cup

Just wondering, are all the Irish crews mentioned, in the draw for Henley or do some of them still have to qualify proper for the final draw by taking part in the qualifying races on the 25th June.

i wonder how young hanily and chambers would fare against eachoter now down in iniscara after the junior sculls in 08....say twould be a bit diff this time round haha I see what your getting at fili, but its not unreasonable to think that our young international athletes can reach the same level; granted it might take a bit longer. I don't think your comment serves any purpose there really. Similarly people are quick to decide with finality that the Huskies will be too much for Queens. Surely we should support the crews and individuals in our country who train hard and well enough to be in a position where they can contend to win. Maybe the hastiness from some people to condemn these people stems from them being daunted by, or incapable of reaching the top level themselves, so they put down others who attempt to do so?

Apolagies if i came across as an arsehole there i phrased it wrong i mean itd be a good race to see. I wonder how good of a double theyd make these days, always wondered that. But ya queens are our only irish hope of bringing home a henley title (i think) so we should all shout for them...but if they win the brits will claim em as there own if they get knocked out they'll be irish, regardless we should all shout for em and i wish them the best. meanwhile with a big irish entry this year what crews might come throught a few rounds? ucd snr 4 looks good for a couple of rounds after there perfromance at london and dublin met...how about the muckross crews of which theres two i believe, will they do well?

Oh right fair enough fili. Good point about Brits claiming queens should they win. Wonder how the guys in the boat feel, couldn't help but notice that they were entered as a GB crew in Duisburg.

Geez Fili pacher if you werent trying to take the piss out of Hanily from BEHIND A KEYBOARD instead of after pumping him in the scull, we might even take you seriously.

Hes a top class athlete and was shouting for him in the inter scull final this year...what i mean is itd be a good race if they raced again and i meant it would be a bit different this time i.e chambers would win(a fair statment i believe) but i never once stated by how much or that it would be by a distance soooooooooo ya there ya go..you just misinterppreted me...he's irelands best u23 athlete an atmd certainly has a career ahead of him in rowing.. Back to henley...........
