Championships are the pinnacle for the clubs. The smaller boat championships were added to allow smaller clubs the events to complete in and potentially win. The rolls of honour reflect the work and dedication of the clubs. Composites do nothing to improve the numbers participating in events. Would county footballers play for a different team? Why do oarspeople feel the need to throw away club loyalty in pursuit of a champioships? Oarpeople on the site are arguing that they don't break the rules. What about integrity?

Was it not a case that everyone voted for the Grand League but the split championships was a sub part of that vote?
So if you wanted the Grand League, which I think most did, you had to take the split championships as well.
